Master Gardener Plant Identification
Plant identification is an important service of the Extension Service. As volunteers, the Master Gardeners help with these duties. In order to help us be more effective in helping you (the person with the unknown plant) we will need some material from you.
When you collect a specimen, also please collect as much information about the plant as you can. If you can not take an actually specimen (it is on the road side, in a state park or on your grumpy neighbors property), take photographs preferably digital (see below).
This web site has a great discussion on how to take a digital picture for use in identifying things.
You can also try identifying a plant yourself. You can view pictures of plants found in Walton County.
Please feel free to e-mail us if you cannot identify a plant. Include as much information as you can so that we can help you.
