“So You Want to be a Farmer” Series for New Farmers in the Panhandle

February – May, 2017:  Farming can be challenging to get into, so for people interested in starting a business or taking up growing things as a hobby, the University of Florida IFAS Extension Service is presenting a series of educational workshops. These workshops will cover topics such as soil and water, growing fruits and vegetables, sustainable pest management, and farm business. The sessions will be held the following dates and times: February 7 at the North Florida Research and Education Center in Quincy, March 7 at the County Extension Office in DeFuniak Spring, April 4 at the Jackson County Extension Office in Marianna, and May 2 at the North Florida Research and Education Center in Quincy. Sessions will run from 6:00-7:30pm CST (7:00-8:30pm EST). Register online at Eventbrite.com; tickets are $10 per session.
